Hiring: Backcountry Lodge Chef

Location: Yoho National Park (near Banff, Lake Louise, Golden BC)
Private accommodation & all meals included

Seasonal Full-Time | May 15 – October 10, 2026

Compensation: $8,500+ per month (commensurate with experience)

About the Opportunity

Lake O’Hara Lodge is seeking a Chef or Sous Chef for the 2026 season — an opportunity to live and cook in one of Canada’s most breathtaking alpine settings.

  • A grounded, thoughtful leader who can guide and support a team of six
  • A collaborative communicator who fosters a positive, inclusive kitchen culture
  • Someone who thrives in remote, community-based environments
  • Culinary training or experience is valued, but attitude, professionalism, and leadership ability are our top priorities

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support daily kitchen operations in a remote lodge setting
  • Execute a consistent, creative rotating menu that suits our guest expectations
  • Prepare high-quality breakfasts, lunches, baked goods, and plated dinners
  • Manage ordering, inventory, and food costs
  • Ensure a clean, organized, safe kitchen environment
  • Support and guide a team of six kitchen staff through mentorship and clear structure
