About Small Change Fund

Small Change Fund acts as a catalyst for individuals and grassroots organizations to improve the environment, reduce poverty, and promote reconciliation efforts across Canada, working with Indigenous Peoples to support the protection of their lands, waters and communities.

We are a capacity support engine and have helped more than 300 organizations across the country, the majority tackling environmental and climate-related issues.

Our award-winning crowdfunding platform is the core of our operations, and we provide our support and expertise in campaigning, government relations, fundraising and communications. We amplify our partners’ impact to achieve success.

We also develop our own projects, which include: Hot Globe, a comedy series about climate change aimed at disrupting the same old climate communications; Get On The Bus, a national movement to inspire a youth transit revolution; the Public Voice Fund, which funds environmental groups to engage government relations experts in influencing decision-makers; and Greenbelt Champions, a campaign that rallied the Ontario public to (successfully) protect the Greenbelt from being carved up for development.

With a diverse, inclusive staff of 40+ experts working across Canada in both official languages and several Indigenous ones, we have deep professional and lived experience in our core mission areas.

Our invitation to anyone who wants to change something is simple: Bring your change here.

The Opportunity

Small Change Fund is poised for an important new chapter. Building on eighteen years of impact and a strong national reputation, we are seeking a President who will guide the organization’s next phase with clarity, care and vision. The President will bring seasoned leadership to a high-performing team, ensuring that Small Change Fund continues to deliver meaningful results for communities and the environment across Canada. They will champion fundraising excellence, nurture strong partnerships, and foster a healthy, inclusive workplace — positioning the organization for long-term strength and resilience.

Looking ahead, Small Change Fund is entering a period of purposeful growth — refining its strategy, broadening its reach, and investing in the capacity to meet complex community and environmental challenges. It’s an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished leader to harness this momentum and shape the organization’s next stage of impact.
