  • Position based in Sackville, NB
  • $18.00/hour
  • Full time, summer position
  • 35 hours per week, with some weekends and evenings
  • Anticipated Start Date: May 19, 2026

About Nature NB

Nature NB connects people with nature. We support a diverse network of nature-lovers across the province, providing opportunities for New Brunswickers of all ages, and from all regions and backgrounds, to discover, learn about, and share nature with each other. We travel throughout the province, teaching kids about nature, we work to protect and conserve species at risk through monitoring, restoration, and local outreach, and we engage volunteers in monitoring and protecting the species and landscapes they love.

Nature NB is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to celebrate, conserve, and protect New Brunswick’s natural heritage through education, networking, and collaboration.

About the position

Nature NB is seeking a Species At-Risk Technician for activities focused on our pollinator, agroecosystems, and coastal conservation work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and lead field work activities focused on monitoring Monarch butterfly and bird populations in New Brunswick;
  • Assist in developing educational materials;
  • Assist with community science programs and species at risk workshops;
  • Assist with implementation of pollinator habitat creation projects;
  • Collaboration and networking with partner organizations and experienced naturalists.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership and work well as part of a team. They will enjoy working outdoors and interacting with the public.

Requirements:

  • Educational background in natural sciences (e.g. biology, forestry) or related field;
  • Experience and passion working or volunteering outdoors and/or engaging in outdoor activities.
  • Ability to communicate easily in English;

Assets:

  • Familiarity with or interest in pollinator, native plant, and/or bird conservation;
  • Communication in French;
  • Experience with program development
