Position: Bilingual School Programs Officer
Organization: Royal Botanical Gardens
Location: Burlington / Hamilton area, Dundas, Ontario

Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) is seeking a passionate and bilingual education professional to lead the development and delivery of innovative, curriculum-connected school programs.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to inspiring the next generation through nature-based learning. This is a seasonal position running from early September until June 26, 2026.

About the Role

The School Programs Officer – Bilingual is responsible for designing and delivering engaging K–12 educational programs that connect students with nature, science, and sustainability. This includes both in-person and virtual offerings. The role also involves supervising seasonal educators and facilitators, ensuring high-quality program delivery, and contributing to the strategic goals of RBG’s Education team.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and deliver interactive, curriculum-aligned programs that foster curiosity and a lifelong connection to the natural world.
  • Integrate STEAM principles and Indigenous knowledge to reflect diverse perspectives and deepen student learning.
  • Recruit, train, and support seasonal staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality programming.
  • Use feedback and data to assess program success and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage program logistics, schedules, communications, and budgets to ensure smooth operations and financial sustainability.

What You Bring

  • Bilingual fluency in English and French (oral and written).
  • Experience in curriculum-based education, especially in nature, science, or environmental studies.
  • Knowledge of STEAM education, Indigenous perspectives, and Ontario’s K–12 curriculum.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort with digital tools for scheduling, communication, and virtual learning.
  • A passion for connecting people with nature and making learning fun, inclusive, and impactful.
  • A clear Vulnerable Sector Screening is required of the successful candidate at their expense.
