Seeking a Volunteer: Help us Redesign Our Event Website!

Role: WordPress Website Revamp Volunteer
Organization: Centre for Local Prosperity
Location: Atlantic Canada (virtual)

We’re looking for a volunteer to help reorganize and refresh our event-specific (a summer 2026 festival) WordPress website over July-August!

Our goal is to do an overhaul of our existing event (for previous conferences) website in preparation for our next event: a festival in August 2026. We are imagining a more engaging, visually-appealing, user-friendly, accessible site. If you've worked with WordPress, are a web designer, or someone who loves organizing content, we’d love to hear from you!

Who We Are:

The Centre for Local Prosperity is a Nova Scotia based charity with an Atlantic Canadian scope focused on economic re-localization in the region. Our mission is to empower rural Atlantic Canadian communities to strengthen their local agency for the future through education, building connections, creating pathways, and catalyzing new initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

• Familiarity/experience with Wordpress
  • Familiarity with organizing and structuring content
  • Experience with themes, page builders, or plugins is a bonus
• A collaborative spirit: this will be a team effort and you’ll work with our staff to make the vision come to life!

Timeline:

*You don’t have to commit to Phase 2 to volunteer for Phase 1!

Phase 1 (Initial Website Revamp)

• Project starts: mid-July
• Deadline: first week of September (2025)

(Project could be ongoing for maintenance / additions to the site as the event approaches!)

Phase 2 (Ongoing Content Additions, Edits, and Maintenance)

• Project starts: Mid-September 2025
• Deadline: August 2026 (event date!)
