Position: GNN Silent Auction Support Volunteer
Organization: Green Neighbours Network of Toronto
Location: Remote from home preferably in Toronto and the GTA

Green Neighbours Network of Toronto (GNN) is a vibrant grassroots organization that has grown to include over 1,000 individual and 50+ group members since being incorporated as a non-profit in 2020. Our mission is to support individuals and groups across Toronto and the GTA in making neighbourhoods greener, healthier, and more sustainable. Why We Need You

GNN is looking for detail-oriented and enthusiastic volunteers to support the planning and coordination of our Second Online Silent Auction which will launch on February 7, 2026 and be live for 2 weeks.

As a volunteer, you will be part of a team raising much needed funds for grassroots groups that work hard every day to make neighbourhoods greener, healthier, and more sustainable. .

What You’ll Do

As part of the Silent Auction Volunteer Team, you’ll help with the behind-the-scenes administrative, outreach, and coordination tasks that make this event possible.

Responsibilities may include some of the following:

  • Supporting donor outreach: preparing and sending emails, maintaining donor lists, and following up with local businesses and organizations.
  • Researching potential sponsors and donors through directories and networks.
  • Tracking donations and communications using shared spreadsheets and online tools (Monday.com).
  • Coordinating logistics: donation forms, pickup of auction items, and uploading details online.
  • Helping prepare promotional materials (e.g., launch emails, reminders, thank-you notes).
  • Supporting donor and bidder communications before, during, and after the auction.
  • Collaborating closely with GNN team members through regular check-ins.

This is not a fundraising role – it’s a crucial administrative and coordination position that supports the team to deliver a smooth, successful auction.

Time Commitment

  • 3-4 hours per week from November 2025 to February 2026 (approximately 2-4 months)
  • Flexible schedule; most work can be done remotely.
  • Occasional check-ins via email or online meetings with the GNN team.

Required Skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented: you enjoy keeping things on track.
  • Comfortable working with G Suite (Google Sheets, Gmail, Drive, Docs) and online tools such as Monday.com (training provided).
  • A clear communicator, both in writing and verbally.
  • Collaborative, reliable, and willing to pitch in where needed.
  • Interested in supporting local climate action and community-building in Toronto.
  • Experience in event coordination, admin support, or donor relations is an asset but not required. We’ll provide guidance and tools to help you succeed.
