Needed: Shoreline Cleanup Volunteers
Organization: Coastal Action
Location: South Shore, Nova Scotia
Coastal Action is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join a series of island shoreline cleanups during the 2025 field season! Volunteer support is important for cleanup success, and we’re excited to offer an opportunity to get involved in meaningful, hands-on work that helps protect our coastal environments.
If you love being outdoors, are comfortable travelling by boat, and are passionate about keeping our shorelines clean and healthy, we’d love to have you on board. The work can be physically demanding at times, many of the islands have uneven terrain, rocky shorelines, and a significant amount of marine debris to tackle, yet the experience is always rewarding (and often includes a great view!).
Even if island cleanups aren’t your thing, there’s still a place for your support! If you’d prefer to stay on land, we’re always looking for help with sorting, weighing, and categorizing debris after our cleanups. If that sounds more like your style, we have roles for you, too.
We’re looking for reliable, team-oriented individuals who are up for an adventure, or happy to support from shore, and eager to make a difference. Whether you’re an experienced cleanup volunteer or looking to try something new, we welcome your support.
2025 cleanup dates and details are available here: https://www.nsadoptahighway.ca/events/
