Introducing Green Schools Volunteers Across Canada (Eco Clubs) — an exciting new programme from the United Nations Association in Canada (UNAC) and Canada Service Corps (CSC)!

If you’re 12–30 years old, residing in the provinces of Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia and passionate about helping the environment, this is your opportunity to get involved and foster tangible environmental change in your school or community!

Eco Clubs Volunteers will participate in a wide range of activities and responsibilities:

  • Start or grow an Eco Club at your school or community center
  • Complete 120 volunteer hours to put towards graduation or on your resume while doing projects that matter, like tree planting, recycling drives, composting, eco-art, school garden builds, and more
  • Get mentorship and leadership training
  • Join workshops to connect with other environmental changemakers across Ontario, Alberta & BC
  • Learn how to design campaigns and mobilize others into taking climate action
  • Get recognized for your work and inspire your school and community
  • Earn an official completion certificate from the United Nations Association in Canada
  • Meet other passionate youth working towards driving environmental change
  • Get awesome swag and opportunities for paid travel to attend workshops

The programme will span across all youth demographics, with a special focus on Indigenous and underrepresented youth, because meaningful climate action should include everyone. By participating, you’ll gain skills, experience, meet new friends, and be a part of growing positive change in your community.

Voici les Volontaires des écoles vertes au Canada (Eco Clubs) — un nouveau programme passionnant de l’Association canadienne pour les Nations Unies (ACNU) et du Corps de service du Canada (CSC) !

Si vous avez entre 12 et 30 ans, que vous vivez en Ontario, en Alberta ou en Colombie-Britannique et que vous êtes passionné·e par l’environnement, c’est l’occasion idéale de vous engager et de favoriser un changement environnemental concret dans votre école ou votre communauté!

Les bénévoles des éco-clubs participeront à un large éventail d’activités et de responsabilités :

  • Créer ou développer un Eco Club dans votre école ou centre communautaire
  • Réaliser 120 heures de bénévolat reconnues pour l’obtention d’un diplôme ou valorisées sur votre CV, en menant des projets qui comptent : plantation d’arbres, campagnes de recyclage, compostage, art écologique, création de jardins scolaires, et bien plus encore
  • Bénéficier d’un mentorat et d’une formation en leadership
  • Participer à des ateliers pour rencontrer d’autres artisans du changement environnemental en Ontario, en Alberta et en Colombie-Britannique
  • Apprendre à concevoir des campagnes et à mobiliser d’autres personnes pour agir en faveur du climat
  • Être reconnu·e pour votre engagement et inspirer votre école et votre communauté

Le programme est ouvert à tous les jeunes, avec une attention particulière portée aux jeunes autochtones et aux jeunes issus de groupes sous-représentés, car une action climatique significative doit inclure tout le monde.

En participant à ce programme, vous développerez des compétences, acquerrez de l’expérience, ferez de nouvelles rencontres et contribuerez à un changement positif dans votre communauté.
