The Canadian Environmental Network (RCEN) facilitates cooperation and networking among non-profit, non-governmental environmental organizations across Canada and internationally. Since 1977, we have been enabling and enhancing our members' work of protecting, conserving, restoring and promoting a clean, healthy, sustainable environment. RCEN brings together organizations and individuals with interests in bettering Canada’s environment through participation in policy and discussion. 

Treasurer Position

RCEN is accepting nominations for a key position on our Board of Directors: Treasurer. The Treasurer plays a pivotal role in RCEN, overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the organization. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the direction of RCEN and make a national impact on collective efforts to protect our environment and strengthen environmental policy.

As Treasurer, you will:

• Support management of RCEN's finances, including budgeting and financial reporting.
• Assist in developing financial strategies to support RCEN's mission and growth.
• Work closely with other board members and staff to ensure financial transparency and accountability.
• Utilize your financial expertise to guide important fiscal decisions.

We are seeking candidates with a background in finance, accounting, or related fields. Experience in nonprofit financial management is a plus.

Eligibility:

• Board members need to be Class A members however individuals can still apply without having this designation
• Obtaining Class A membership is part of the eligibility process but not a requirement for the application
• Members can nominate themselves or others
• New membership applicants are also welcome to apply
