ORGANIC GARDENING

Role: Wilderness Organic Gardening & Retreat
Location: Atlin, northern British Columbia / south of Whitehorse YT

We are a family living on an 183 acre homestead surrounded by wilderness in every direction including Atlin Lake and a circle of sacred mountains.

We are looking for volunteers to help with organic gardening building new Hugo garden beds, help building a cabin addition, cutting firewood, fishing and preserving food.

Our homestead lies in a profoundly peaceful meadow and forest ideal for nature meditation. Our mountains are perfect for vision quests and expanding consciousness with 360 degree panoramic wilderness views. We can provide support for sacred plant medicine ceremonies and I am a professional healer.

We ask for about 25 hours of help each week in exchange for food and accommodations.

Our diet is very simple, harvesting as much as we can from the land and fishing.

For accomodations there is a wall tent or tipi, or bring your own tent, or build your own primitive survival shelter. There is an outdoor communal cookshack with a woodburning stove, sauna, and pool for bathing.

Volunteers must be physically strong, stable and community-orientated, and experienced with splitting firewood and cooking on a woodstove. Assests would be experience with chainsawing, carpentry, gardening, fishing, and building subterrean survival shelters.

Atlin is two hours south of Whitehorse, Yukon. The property is off-grid with no power, electircity, or running water. Wifi is only on one hour a day at the homestead and there is no cell phone service in Atlin.

We ask for a one month minimum stay. Availability is from May 1 to September 30.
