Position: GNN Member Group Volunteer Coordinator / Liaison
Organization: Green Neighbours Network of Toronto (GNN)
Location: Remote from home. Preference is for candidates who live live in Toronto or the GTA

Who we are

Green Neighbours Network of Toronto (GNN) is a vibrant grassroots organization that has grown to include over 1,000 individual and 50+ group members since being incorporated as a non-profit in 2020. Our mission is to support individuals and groups across Toronto and the GTA in making neighbourhoods greener, healthier, and more sustainable. Why We Need You

As GNN continues to grow, we want to ensure that our member groups are fully using the tools available on our website to promote events, recruit volunteers, and share their initiatives. We need a friendly, organized, and proactive volunteer to act as a liaison, onboarding new groups, guiding them through the platform, and providing ongoing support.

What You’ll Do

  • Onboard new member groups (city-wide or neighbourhood-level) and teach them how to use GNN website features, including:
    • Updating their group profile, photos, and cover image
    • Listing volunteer opportunities and events
    • Managing group members
    • Starting or joining forum discussions
  • Follow up periodically with member groups to ensure they are comfortable using the site and capture their feedback.
  • Document the onboarding process and prepare presentation materials for sessions (if needed).
  • Act as a consistent point of contact for member groups, fostering engagement and helping them maximize the benefits of GNN membership.

Commitment & Support

  • Approximately 2-4 hours per week.
  • 1 year - renewable position.
  • Start date: October 2025.
  • Remote role with virtual support and check-ins.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Experience using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Familiarity with task tracking tools (e.g., Monday.com).
  • Background in environmental advocacy, communications, or customer service.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Comfort contacting new people, building rapport, and giving online presentations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and maintain confidentiality.
