The Ecology Action Centre (EAC) is a fierce and creative environmental charity based in Mi’kma’ki/Nova Scotia.

Since 1971, we have proudly tackled critical environmental issues from biodiversity protection to climate change to environmental justice. Come together for the EAC's Open House

The EAC Open House is one of our favourite times to connect with our friends, volunteers, and supporters at our eco-renovated home at 2705 Fern Lane. This year, we are host our Open House over the course of three days!

• Tuesday, December 3 – 4:30 pm-6:30 pm;
• Wednesday, December 4 – 4:30-6:30pm;
• Thursday, December 5 – 4:30-6:30pm.

We’re looking for volunteer support with the following:

Baked goods!
Do you have a holiday treat that’s always a crowd pleaser?

We’re looking for 2-3 volunteers to make their favourite baked good to share amongst attendees. With approximately 48 people in attendance each day, your baked good should be enough for at least one Open House day.

Time Expectation: Bake cookies the day before or on December 3, 4 or 5 and bring the cookies to one of the Open House days.

Veggie trays!
Help us slice and dice vegetables for home-style vegetable trays!

Time Expectation: Showing up at our office at 3:00pm on December 3, 4, or 5.

Winter crafts!
Do you love a non-denominational holiday crafting project? Do your friends and family rely on you to decorate for parties. We’re looking for 3-5 volunteers to create crafts and make Fern Lane Open House ready!

Time Expectation: A crafting session a week before the Open House (3-5pm on Tuesday, Nov 26)

Photographer!

We're looking for 1 volunteer to take pictures throughout one of the Open House days. These photos will be used on social media and to promote the Open House next year. If you're someone looking for more photography experience, please reach out!

Time Expectation: 4:00-6:30pm on Dec 3, 4, or 5. You can pick whichever date.
