Why We Need You

GNN is preparing for its Second Online Silent Auction, launching on February 7, 2026, which will raise much-needed funds for grassroots climate groups across Toronto.

To ensure a seamless online experience for donors and bidders, we’re looking for a Givergy Site Coordinator Volunteer to set up and maintain our auction platform: Givergy.

Givergy is a trusted online fundraising platform that allows organizations to run silent auctions, manage item listings, and collect donations securely. You’ll play a key behind-the-scenes role in creating a smooth, engaging, and professional experience for all participants.

What You’ll Gain

  • Boost your digital & project skills: gain hands-on experience setting up and managing a real online fundraising platform.
  • Make a tangible climate impact: support local groups working to build greener, healthier communities.
  • Join a passionate network: collaborate with dedicated volunteers and community organizers.
  • Grow your professional toolkit: build valuable experience in nonprofit communications, event tech, and content coordination.
  • Receive a volunteer reference letter: upon successful completion (if desired).
Plus, be part of a fun, collaborative team driving change from the ground up!

What You’ll Do

As the Givergy Site Coordinator, you’ll work closely with GNN’s Silent Auction team to set up and maintain the online auction platform. Tasks may include:

  • Minor setting up and configuring the Givergy site with guidance from the GNN team.
  • Uploading, formatting, and editing auction item listings, including descriptions and photos.
  • Ensuring the platform is user-friendly, visually appealing, and up to date.
  • Coordinating with other volunteers to track and integrate auction item details.
  • Testing the platform prior to launch to ensure a smooth bidder experience.
  • Providing light troubleshooting support during the auction (as needed).

This is not a fundraising role - it’s a crucial administrative and technical coordination position that ensures the auction runs smoothly and professionally.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 3-4 hours per week, from November 2025 to February 2026.
  • Flexible schedule; most work can be done remotely.
  • Occasional check-ins via email or online meetings with the GNN team.

Required Skills

  • Comfortable with web-based platforms and basic content editing.
  • Organized and detail-oriented; you enjoy making things clear and polished.
  • Familiarity with G Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Drive)
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar graphic design tools.
  • Clear written communication skills.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and proactive.
  • No previous experience with Givergy is required - training and support will be provided.

Experience in website content entry, event coordination, or nonprofit admin is an asset but not necessary.
