Hives for Humanity is a non-profit society and was founded in 2012. We have grown from one colony, in one garden, with one partnership, to 180 colonies in locations across Metro Vancouver, with partners in non-profit, local business, educational and institutional entities and organizations. Our programming includes beekeeping and gardening, honeybee health and related environmental impact research, local sustainable beekeeping, pollinator gardening, urban farming, skills training, advocacy, awareness and education. We believe in the therapeutic value of this work, the social, and environmental impacts of beekeeping, learning and celebrating in inclusive spaces.

We are seeking members for our Board of Directors, with governance and business acumen. These members will support our strategic work as we seek to emerge from survival, through capacity growth, into organizational sustainability and scalability. We have a holistic vision, and many programs engaged in our mission; our new members will help build cohesion, develop evaluation, and build clear communication of our work.
