Role: Local Community Host. Charlottetown Walking Project

About the Project: We are looking for Charlottetown locals to lead authentic, small-group walking tours. Our goal is to shift the focus from traditional, scripted tourism toward meaningful human connection. We believe the best way to discover Prince Edward Island is through the eyes of someone who lives here and cares about the community.

The Role This is not a typical tour guide job. You won’t be reading from a script or leading a massive group with a megaphone. Instead, you will:

• Lead 2-4 hour walks for travelers curious about the real Charlottetown.
• Share the city’s history, local art scene, and your favorite sustainable local spots.
• Help guests understand the unique culture of the Island beyond the typical tourist traps.
• Act as a bridge between visitors and the local community.

• Community-Minded: You are proud of Charlottetown and want to see it represented authentically.
• Natural Storyteller: You enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing insights about local life.
• Reliable & Independent: You enjoy managing your own schedule and can handle the logistics of meeting guests in the city center.
• Environmentally Conscious: You prefer walking as the primary mode of exploration and respect the city’s heritage and spaces.
