The Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective (CCPC) was formed in 2021 with the objective of promoting conservation and science education through the production of strong, thought-provoking visual content.

The collective is composed of freelance photographers from across the country and from a wide variety of occupational training backgrounds including biology, education, journalism, social work, and business. We believe that working together—combining our strengths, experience, and networks—greatly enhances our ability to shed light on pressing conservation issues and reach, inform, and engage a broader audience.

Position Summary

The Project Manager plays a central role in ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective's (CCPC) operational projects. This position is responsible for managing a variety of initiatives, including webinars, virtual and in-person events, publication projects, and other organizational priorities from planning through completion.

We are seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented professional with strong project management skills who can oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and have a minimum of three years of project management experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of organizational projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring effective communication throughout each project.
  • Assist the Events Manager with tracking and coordinating tasks such as webinars and virtual events, registration, logistics, timelines, budgeting etc
  • Oversee the development and production of CCPC publications, including book development projects, by coordinating contributors, editors, designers, and production timelines.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and resource allocation.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track.
  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas and meeting notes, and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with communications, creative, and campaign teams to ensure projects align with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Establish project success metrics and KPIs, monitor and evaluate project outcomes, gather stakeholder feedback, document lessons learned, and recommend process improvements to enhance future project delivery
  • Develop and refine project management processes, templates, and workflows to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Support additional operational and strategic projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation required.
  • Minimum of three years of professional project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating events, webinars, or stakeholder engagement initiatives is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and remote teams.
  • Proficiency with project management software and collaboration tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

This volunteer role will be posted for a two week period until July 19th.
