Now Hiring: Environmental Phone Canvassers
Organization: Manitoba Wilderness Committee
Location: Remote, Manitoba

Get paid to protect wilderness, wildlife, and wild places!

Are you passionate about protecting nature? Do you enjoy connecting with people and want to make a meaningful difference?

The Wilderness Committee is looking for motivated, environmentally conscious people to join our remote phone canvassing team in Manitoba!

As a phone canvasser, you'll connect with people who have previously supported the Wilderness Committee, share updates about our environmental campaigns, strengthen relationships with our supporters, and invite them to renew or increase their financial support for wilderness protection.

No cold calling! You'll be speaking with people who have already demonstrated an interest in protecting wildlife, wilderness, and the natural environment.

This is an opportunity to develop valuable communication, fundraising, and community engagement skills while directly supporting environmental advocacy in Manitoba and across Canada — all while working remotely.

What we offer

  • Remote work: Work from home within Manitoba
  • Flexible scheduling: Full-time and part-time opportunities
  • Weekday shifts: Approximately 4:15 PM–9:00 PM, with flexible scheduling options
  • Weekend shifts: Available once fully trained and comfortable canvassing independently
  • Pay: $95 base per completed shift, plus performance-based commissions. Experienced canvassers can earn $150+ per shift
  • No experience necessary: Full training and ongoing support provided
  • Opportunities to develop communication, fundraising, and relationship-building skills
  • A supportive team working toward meaningful environmental change

Who we're looking for

You don't need previous phone canvassing or fundraising experience. We're looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about wildlife, wilderness, and environmental protection
  • Friendly, approachable, and interested in having meaningful conversations with people from different backgrounds
  • Comfortable speaking with people over the phone and listening attentively
  • Able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Motivated, dependable, and willing to learn
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying connected with a team
  • Open to feedback and ongoing skill development
  • Willing to develop resilience when facing rejection
  • Organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable learning basic computer systems
  • Computer required: Applicants must have access to a reliable laptop or desktop computer capable of running spreadsheets and completing donation-related data entry online. Tablets and Chromebooks are generally not suitable for this position.

You don't need to be an environmental expert or an experienced fundraiser to succeed. If you're passionate about protecting nature, enjoy connecting with people, and are willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you!
