Yorklands Green Hub is seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors and help support the financial sustainability and long-term growth of our environmental and community-focused organization.

About the Role

The Treasurer provides financial oversight and strategic guidance to the Board, helping ensure that Yorklands Green Hub’s finances are accurate, transparent, sustainable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on the organization’s financial health
• Support annual budgeting and financial planning
• Oversee financial reporting, records, and documentation
• Support financial compliance and risk management
• Monitor grants, donations, sponsorships, and restricted funds
• Serve as Chair of the Finance Committee
• Provide financial insight to support Board decision-making
• Work collaboratively with the Board, Finance Committee, and external financial professionals as needed

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone with:

• Experience or knowledge in financial management, accounting, budgeting, or financial planning
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• An understanding of financial compliance and risk management
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly
• An interest in supporting a mission-driven environmental organization

Nonprofit financial experience is an asset.

Time Commitment

The Treasurer attends monthly Board and Finance Committee meetings and spends approximately 25 hours per month reviewing financial information, budgets, and preparing for meetings. Additional time may be required during budgeting or audit periods.
