Summer Camps 2027

Positions: Volunteer with Camp Goodtimes!
Summer camp: Camp Goodtimes (Canadian Cancer Society)
Locations: Maple Ridge (Metro Vancouver) and Shawnigan Lake (Vancouver Island), BC

Camp Goodtimes provides children and youth affected by cancer and their families with an unforgettable summer camp experience in a medically supervised, safe, and supportive environment. We’ve been friendship-building and memory-making in British Columbia since 1985, and work with nearly 500 participants each summer through our kids, family, and youth camps.

Our programs offer a variety of volunteer opportunities including Arts and Crafts, Dining Hall, Host and Skip (Camp Counsellor) roles! If you’re passionate about supporting vulnerable communities, comfortable working with kids, and enjoy the outdoors, we’d love to hear from you!

Applications for Summer 2027 open on December 10th, 2026. If you are viewing this posting before applications open, please register here to receive a notification with application instructions on December 10th.

We believe that time spent at camp allows kids to just be kids, away from their diagnosis. We are proud to provide programming that gives joy, confidence, support and hope for children with cancer and their families.

Transportation is provided from Vancouver to our Maple Ridge site and back as well as from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal to our Vancouver Island site and back. Why We Need You

The Canadian Cancer Society is proud to be a champion and voice for Canadians who care about cancer. We are committed to supporting and engaging people in communities across the country to prove that life is bigger than cancer. CCS is proud to be able to and continue to provide summers of joy, confidence, support, and hope for children and families impacted by the disease. Our camps are designed to foster independence, increase confidence, and create an environment of understanding and support.

All Camp Goodtimes programs are offered at no cost to participating families. We need you to continue to provide the distinct opportunity for connection Camp Goodtimes offers to all affected by the reality of childhood cancer.

What We’re Looking For

All volunteer applicants must be a minimum of 20 years of age by December 31, 2027.
