Help reduce construction waste, recover valuable building materials, and support a more sustainable future while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

The National Deconstruction & Material Upcycling Association (NDMUA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing construction waste through deconstruction, material recovery, reuse, and community education.

We are looking for volunteers interested in sustainability, construction, environmental stewardship, and the circular economy. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience while supporting active deconstruction and material recovery projects throughout Metro Vancouver.

Volunteers will gain experience in:

• Safe building deconstruction
• Material recovery and salvage
• De-nailing reclaimed lumber
• Selective dismantling
• Reclaimed lumber processing
• Basic carpentry support
• Safe use of hand and power tools
• Job site safety
• Material sorting and warehouse organization
• Circular construction practices
• Landfill diversion and embodied carbon reduction
