Position: Environmental Educator
Organization: Langley Environmental Partners Society
Location: Langley, Metro Vancouver BC

Description:

Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS) is a non-profit, partnership-driven organization formed in 1993 to protect and restore the natural environment through education, cooperation and action.

We are currently seeking one full time Environmental Educator to work as part of the Education Team, assisting with the delivery of environmental education programs, reporting to the Executive Director.

Duties will include:

Environmental Education program

  • Communicate with schools, schedule education programs and direct support staff;
  • Deliver presentations to school and community groups in classrooms and outdoors;
  • Facilitate community sustainability initiatives;
  • Assist with the exhibition of interactive displays at community events;
  • Host Professional Development training for educators;
  • Assist with developing new education program materials;
  • Manage education program budget and reporting on program outcomes.

Summer Childrens Day Camps

  • Develop and deliver established kids’ outdoor education programs at the Langley Demonstration Garden, including creating lesson plans, teaching, and leading educational activities and craft components;

Qualifications:

Education: University degree in education, environment or related field, or equivalent combination of experience.

Experience: Minimum 2 years direct experience in teaching and leading programs for children and youth; program management; knowledge of stream ecology, waste management, water conservation and/or other outdoor specializations.

  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing and approachable
  • Interest and understanding of environmental issues and environmental stewardship
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Organized and detail oriented

Condition of hire:

Clean Criminal record review

Valid BC Drivers License + access to personal vehicle for work use

Preference goes to those currently residing in the Fraser Valley/Metro Vancouver area of BC

Work schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm/Monday to Friday. 72 hours bi-weekly, with weekend and evening work when required.

Wage: Hourly, commensurate with experience

Start date: August 17, 2026
