Position: Full-Time Educational Assistant
School: Calgary Nature Kindergarten
Location: Calgary, Alberta

In 2015 CCES founded Calgary’s first Nature Kindergarten, offering the Alberta Kindergarten Curriculum through learner-led exploration of the natural world. It is a government-approved and publicly-funded kindergarten, in which children will spend the majority of their days exploring and learning in nature. Educational Assistant, full-time

Interested candidate should:

• Ideally have early childcare certification education or teaching aide certification
• Have experience working with children aged 4-6 years old
• Have experience with collaborative problem solving model and sensory regulation
• Have experience and/or knowledge of working in an emergent curriculum environment and the Reggio Emilia philosophy
• Be flexible and looks forward to responding to planning to changes in programming as the day requires - based on weather or the interests of the children
• Enjoy collaboration and working in a team planning environment
• The ability to work in Canada

• Have or be willing to take first aid certification
• Have or be willing to submit a current (within 3 months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check
• Is able to get to our school at Red Deer Lake United Church/Lloyd Park (96187 Spruce Mdws Grn, Foothills County, AB T1S 2R9)

This position will:

• Work directly to support children and the classroom teacher in daily routines and activities including risk assessment with children
• Require one to spend the majority of each day in the outdoors in all seasons except in extreme weather
• Require one to be part of weekly team planning
• Require one to be available 5 days per week (Monday- Friday) 8:30am to 4:30pm
• Pay $20 per hour to start
• Begin just prior to the 2026-2027 school year (end of August 2026)
