Position: Community Organizing Assistant

For 35 years, Georgia Strait Alliance has played a leading role in bringing communities together to address the many threats to the Salish Sea. We are excited to be growing our team at a time of positive change and evolution in our organization.

Through the generous funding from Canada Summer Jobs, we are hiring a summer Community Organizing Assistant.
Eligibility:
Due to funding restriction, the successful applicant must be 30 years or younger on the date of hiring; hold Canadian citizenship, permanent resident, or refugee status; and be able to work in the federal electoral riding of Vancouver Quadra.

About the position:
Reporting to the Campaigns Manager, the Community Organizing Assistant will play a key role in revamping our outreach materials, translating campaigns and programs into outward facing materials, and expanding our presence on the ground across the Vancouver Quadra riding. The successful candidate will support GSA’s community outreach, attend public events, and foster relationships with local residents, organizations, and coastal communities. The role is designed to organize and improve our community outreach, build relationships with communities, raise awareness about marine and climate issues, and mobilize public support for campaigns related to the Salish Sea.
