About the Role

The Clean Transportation Program Manager provides leadership to Clean Energy Canada by driving the development and execution of programs that accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies in the transportation sector, supporting Canada’s transition to a clean energy future. This role advances strategic policy initiatives that build on emerging industry trends and existing regulatory frameworks. The position leverages collaboration between government, industry, and community stakeholders to build strong alliances and drive impactful clean energy solutions. Additionally, this role oversees project execution, tracking performance metrics and optimizing resources to maximize program effectiveness. Through strategic problem-solving and stakeholder engagement, the position plays a critical role in managing policy contributions and initiatives that extend Clean Energy Canada’s mission.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the electrification of transportation, with strong technical and policy awareness. The candidate will be a critical thinker and problem solver. With excellent planning and prioritization skills, they will be able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. A creative and innovative team player, the incumbent will excel in forging relationships, making informed decisions, advocating for solutions, achieving results and creating positive change. The incumbent will be a strong communicator (both written and oral), capable of building and maintaining effective external high-level relationships, collaborations and partnerships, as well as directly communicating with Canadians.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Environmental Science, or a relevant discipline and a minimum of five years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of Canadian and global climate and clean energy trends and policies with a particular focus on clean transportation.
  • The candidate will have advanced leadership, strategic planning and project management skills.
  • The candidate will have the ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff and strong communication skills.
  • The candidate must thrive in both collaborative and self-directed environments.
