NovaShores Adventures is seeking sea kayak guides to join our team in beautiful Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia, just outside Cape Chignecto Park on the upper Bay of Fundy. We offer 1-, 2-, and 3-day tours in a unique wilderness setting shaped by the world’s highest tides and dramatic coastal geology.

We are looking for highly self-motivated, responsible, and capable individuals to lead sea kayaking tours (both day trips and overnight camping expeditions) in a remote and sometimes challenging wilderness environment.
Our guests are primarily beginners, so strong interpersonal communication skills, adaptability, and a mature, professional approach are essential.
As a guide with NovaShores Adventures, you will lead tours independently. The role requires strong sea kayaking and leadership skills, including the ability to perform on-water rescues in dynamic conditions. You will be responsible for ensuring guest safety while delivering a welcoming and confidence-building experience for those with little or no outdoor background. Training can be provided for less experienced but capable candidates.
Our tours are not only adventurous but also educational. Strong interpretation skills are important, as guests are highly interested in the region’s geology, wildlife, and history.
Role Overview:
Our tours operate around the tides, so flexibility is essential. Some days begin early, while others finish later. A typical day includes transporting kayaks and gear to a remote beach, setting up for the tour, greeting guests, delivering a safety briefing, and guiding on the water. Guides interpret the surrounding environment and provide a light lunch during the tour. At the end of the day, gear is cleaned, checked, and prepared for the next departure.

Multi-day tours include additional responsibilities such as trip planning, weather and tide assessment, packing, campsite setup, leading short hikes, and preparing hot meals.
Dates and hours are flexible and can be adapted to a guide’s availability.
Staff accommodation is provided free of charge in a comfortable 3-bedroom guides’ cottage located next to our operations base.
