Hiring: Organic Flower Grower & Manager
Type: age 30 & under / summer jobs

Our farm produces organic vegetables, seeds and flowers for the local communities of Williams Lake and, to a lesser degree, Quesnel. Our relationship with our customers and the local community over the last eighteen years has been very important to us and we maintain an active participation in community life. We pride ourselves on our holistic approach and produce most of our inputs on-farm. With the ecology and wildlife of the local area in mind, we always strive to make decisions that will impact the local area as little as possible. For the past decade we have been members of North Okanagan Organic Association and we have been certified organic for 8 years. We look forward to sharing this knowledge and experience with newcomers to the field.

The flower shop manager is responsible for aspects of flower production including seeding, transplanting, weeding and cultivation. This person organizes semi weekly cutting of flowers for sales outlets. Should have some experience in production and arrangement of flower bouquets. Some vegetable cultivation may also be required, including weeding and maintenance of garden space

The manager consistently arranges uniform bouquets for weekly markets. Attendance at weekly markets and professional customer relations may also be required. The manager responds to customer inquiries and requests in a professional manner. The manager is able to accurately calculate change on the spot.

Other potential responsibilites include: site organizing, cleaning, electric fence positioning, packing and moving vegetables, and other tasks as necessary.
