Position: Urban agriculture intern

Job Requirements

• Ages 18–30
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee status (no student work visas)
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• No prior gardening experience required

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work in varied weather (rain, heat, cold), including manual labour
• Working with people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Occasional evening/weekend work

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Growing food: planting, weeding, maintaining, harvesting, washing, and packaging produce
• Working with volunteers: supporting individuals, school groups, and community groups; leading tours
• Participating in workshops, mentorship, excursions, and cultural activities

Skills/Assets

• Enjoys physical outdoor work in all weather
• Interest in gardening or urban agriculture (experience is an asset)
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented, adaptable, curious, and compassionate
• Assets: driver’s license, First Aid/CPR-C, Food Safety, volunteer experience
