RAINscapeTO is an eco-landscaping social enterprise that designs, implements and maintains beautiful and earth friendly gardens.

We offer the design and installation of sustainable gardens such as pollinator and edible gardens, rain gardens and bioswales. We also provide services to support local food production and the use of heritage seeds and native plants as vital additions to a sustainable and healthy urban landscape. JOB PURPOSE
As part of the Management Team, the Community Coordinator will support partnership development, project communications and client relationships. The Community Coordinator also acts as a resource for clients and partners, assisting with consultations, community events and presentations. The Community Coordinator must have some knowledge about horticultural practices, be able to deliver excellent customer service, have leadership and interpersonal skills and have experience in partnership development and strategic communications. The Community Coordinator will support the hands-on delivery of landscaping services when needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibility of this position is to support management with administrative, partnership and communication activities. Some of these tasks include:

• Coordinating/delivering workshops, community forums, events and presentations
• Maintaining positive customer relationships
• Liaising with community groups, neighbourhood, industry and business associations
• Maintaining communications with the public through social media, website updates, and events
• Assisting with project administration including market research and client follow up
• Collect statistical & anecdotal data to assess program successes and barriers
• Participating in weekly reporting and team meetings with management
• Assisting with the hands-on delivery of landscaping services when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest in horticulture, ecological gardening, sustainability and social justice
• Some experience in residential, commercial or community organic/ecological gardening and landscaping is not required but preferred.
• Adaptable to varying tasks, conditions and locations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of google and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with social media and email best practices
• Working knowledge of partnership management and corporate record management
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently and with co-workers and clients
• Responsible, punctual, detail-oriented, organised, reliable and flexible

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Only Indigenous* applicants registered or eligible to be registered at Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment & Training Services will be considered.
*Indigenous peoples, Status and non-Status First Nations, Metis and Inuit of Turtle Island.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work in an office setting or from home, using computer and telecommuting software
• Work under tight timelines and on multiple tasks
• Occasionally work evenings and weekends to oversee community events and workshops
• Some demanding physical activity under various weather conditions when assisting in community events, workshops and at client sites
