Paradise Fields is a leading organic farm dedicated to transforming lives through nutrient-dense food and regenerative agriculture. We grow premium salad mixes, edible flowers, microgreens, vegetables, and herbs that are distributed across Ontario.

We are seeking a passionate, organized, and hands-on Greenhouse Supervisor to lead the daily production of our Salad Mixes and Edible Flowers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high production standards, and helping produce exceptional organic food.

Position Summary

The Greenhouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all greenhouse activities related to salad mix and edible flower production. The successful candidate will coordinate daily operations, supervise staff, ensure crop quality, maintain food safety standards, and work closely with management to achieve production goals.

This is a working supervisor position, requiring both leadership and active participation in greenhouse production.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of greenhouse employees.
• Plan and organize seeding, transplanting, irrigation, fertilization, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
• Monitor crop health and identify pest, disease, nutrient, or irrigation issues.
• Ensure crops meet Paradise Fields' quality standards.
• Train, coach, and support greenhouse staff.
• Schedule work assignments and monitor productivity.
• Maintain accurate production, harvest, and inventory records.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Monitor greenhouse environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, irrigation, and ventilation.
• Coordinate with packaging and sales teams to meet harvest schedules.
• Assist with crop planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain greenhouse equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Participate in harvesting, washing, packing, and other production tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising employees in greenhouse, horticulture, vegetable, or agricultural production.
• Knowledge of greenhouse crop production, particularly leafy greens or specialty crops.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in warm greenhouse environments and performing physically demanding work.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
• Basic computer skills for record keeping.
• Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance practices is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field.
• Experience with organic production systems.
• Experience growing leafy greens or edible flowers.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems and environmental controls.
• First Aid certification is an asset.
