Hiring: Farm & Construction Hand
Term: Full-time, Seasonal (May–End of October)
Farm: Goonieland Permaculture Farm

Location: Off-grid Permaculture Homestead near Golden, BC
Room: On-Site Living Opportunity if Required

Goonieland Permaculture Farm is an off-grid, regenerative homestead located just outside Golden, BC. We are a small, dynamic farm focused on permaculture principles, food production, and land stewardship, alongside ongoing natural building and infrastructure projects.

Projects range from structures to fencing and general homestead development. Our main focus this season is a timber frame workshop.

We are looking for a Farm & Construction Hand with solid building experience to join us for the 2026 season.


The Role

This is a hands-on role that combines construction and farm work. The ideal candidate is confident in building projects and enjoys working outdoors in an off-grid environment.

You will work closely with the farm team on a variety of projects, with a strong focus on construction, framing, and infrastructure, alongside general farm support as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with construction projects (framing, timber framing, small structures, repairs)
  • Support ongoing homestead and infrastructure development
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely
  • Keep work sites organized, clean, and safe
  • Adapt to changing priorities and seasonal needs

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in construction, framing, or timber framing
  • Comfortable using power tools and working on active build sites
  • Physically fit and able to handle manual labour in all weather conditions
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a small team
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take initiative
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred)

  • Respectful, reliable, and a strong team player
  • Interested in farming, permaculture, or alternative living (a bonus, not required)
