Position: High Elevation Landbird Program Field Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW
Birds Canada Atlantic Region is seeking 2-3 skilled field biologists to conduct surveys for Bicknell’s Thrush and other high-elevation bird in remote regions of northern New Brunswick. Field work will primarily consist of early morning and/or dusk point count surveys along pre-determined routes, and deployment of Automated Recording Units. The terrain is rugged and candidates should be in good physical condition, as some surveys will require several hours of hiking, bushwhacking, and overnight camping. EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
This full-time, fixed term role for 8 weeks and is anticipated to start on 27 May 2026. The High Elevation Landbird Program Field Technician reports to the Associate Director and Field Manager.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The salary for this role is $18.30 per hour for an approximately 40 hour work week, plus statutory and discretionary benefits including pro-rated Vacation and Personal Health Days. This position also includes a modest food budget, vehicle access for in-field travel, and basic accommodations for the duration of the Field Season.
