Board Members
Each spring, the Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC) begins the process of filling vacancies arising on the BTC Board, taking into account director turnover and specific competencies needed to achieve the right balance for good governance and to support the BTC’s strategic goals. As a skills-based Board, we look for candidates who, in addition to meeting the eligibility criteria set out in our By-laws, have knowledge and experience in one or more of the ten core competencies developed by the Board for effective governance of the BTC. These competencies are posted on the BTC website and can be found here.

The Board has determined that there is no immediate gap in the Board’s core competencies.
However, in considering the needs of our standing committees and longer-term succession planning, areas of potential value may include individuals with expertise in accounting, governance, human resources and real estate advisory, as well as experience in fundraising to contribute to the strength of our highly effective Staff fundraising team.
The BTC values and welcomes diversity on our Board of Directors and aims to be an accessible and inclusive community that honours, respects and reflects the various ways in which people connect with the Bruce Trail and our organization.
If you are interested in contributing to our vibrant and impactful organization as a Board director, please submit a resume and cover letter to board@brucetrail.org no later than 5pm on June 30, 2026.
