Positions: Camp & Humane Education Leader – Summer 2024

The Government of Canada funded these jobs through the Canada Summer Jobs program. You must be aged between 15 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada. Sorry, international students are not eligible.

$17.40/hr - 32 hrs/week - 8 weeks

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Will be working closely with P.E.A.C.E.’s Executive Director.
• This position is mainly on-site at PEACE Rescue & Farm Sanctuary in Mission, BC. There will be opportunities to work remotely from home doing research and communication work.
• Responsibilities:
  • The ability to work well with children and parents in an inclusive, safe and well-supervised environment.
  • The ability to work well with other leaders and management.
  • The ability to demonstrate responsible, ethical, inclusive and professional conduct.
  • The ability to motivate others towards learning new skills and model good behaviour for campers as it relates to manners and respectfulness.
  • The ability to plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities for large groups of children.
  • The ability to provide support and instruction to others.
  • The ability to identify teachable moments and capitalize on them.
  • The ability to perform all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees the safety of campers.
  • The ability to assist in other activities when camps aren’t running, like on-site public tours, events, veganic farm work and cleaning animal enclosures.
• Qualifications:
  • Previous volunteer, work experience, or education in working with children.
  • Up-to-date first aid and CPR training before your start date.
  • The ability to pass a background check.

START DATE

Flexible, but planning for June/July 2024.
