Positions: Authorizations Audit Coordinator

Location: Multiple locations (Hybrid)

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Authorizations Audit Coordinator
$69,760.70 - $79,322.69 annually

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Engineering group develops and implements province-wide engineering and environmental standards. The ministry develops policies and procedures to support the application of those standards and provides engineering and technical services to a variety of ministry projects. Our staff provide expert advice to the ministry and to allied organizations for the planning, design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of British Columbia's highways and bridges.

The Authorizations Audit Coordinator provides technical advice regarding auditing and education decisions of the Water Sustainability Act (WSA). The position is also responsible for creating and implementing auditing and education programs across projects.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • An undergraduate degree in an environmentally focused program (e.g., biology, environmental studies/management) plus two (2) years of related experience; or
  • A diploma in one of the above-mentioned disciplines and five (5) years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes all of the following:

  • Experience conducting audits for compliance with environmental regulations and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Experience developing and delivering educational activities and materials to partners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working in environmental construction management.
  • Experience performing technical duties and working with permits and authorizations.
  • Experience in construction, negotiating and resolving conflicts with stakeholders in natural resource management.
