Positions: Agriculture and Environment Advisor

Locations: Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Togo, Senegal, Swaziland, Tanzania and Ghana
Duration: 4 – 18 months

Context: Crossroad International is an international development organization that is reducing poverty and increasing women’s rights around the world. We work with local partners in eight countries and are supported by hundreds of volunteers each year.


Main responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities and assist in training technicians and producers on different agricultural techniques;
  • Conduct workshops, focus groups and individual interviews to analyze the experience of different actors;
  • Assess the social and economic profitability of applying different technologies or techniques (productivity, social impacts, environmental impact, efficiency and effectiveness).


  • Training in agronomy, monitoring and evaluation, social sciences, project management, organizational development, or other relevant fields;
  • Knowledge and experience in agriculture;
  • Ability to work in teams and autonomously;
  • Ability and willingness to work in rural areas and new cultural and professional settings.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
  • Willing to conduct fundraising and public engagement activities before, during and after the placement;
