EnviroCentre actively brings environmental change to life by offering people, organizations and communities across Ottawa and the province, practical solutions to take measurable actions to reduce their environmental footprint.

The Board of Directors
The Board plays a critical role with respect to business planning, organizational strategy, governance, financial stewardship, legal and ethical integrity and overall accountability. The Board has a maximum of nine director positions, three (3) of which are sought to be filled. Board members serve for a 3-year term.
The Nominating Committee is seeking interest from candidates who complement the Board’s existing skills and qualifications, reflect Ottawa’s diverse communities, and who have strong knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
The ideal candidate is an experienced executive or senior manager with a strong track record of developing financially sustainable business streams and managing programs with organizational longevity. This individual possesses detailed understanding of financial performance metrics and business planning strategies for non-profit, social enterprise, small business and/or charitable organizations. Desirable attributes include a broad understanding of financial tools and investment strategies, as well as awareness of new approaches for stimulating market development and platforms. A finance, accounting or legal background is preferred.
The ideal individual possesses a broad working knowledge of energy conservation regulatory mandate and programs at the local, provincial and federal levels, with a strong understanding of utility initiatives and energy markets. Knowledge and experience in energy efficiency and retrofits for residential and/or commercial buildings is preferred. This candidate is an experienced consultant, government agent, or senior manager in the private or not-for-profit sector, with a strong network in the energy sectors and insight into future programming opportunities.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in communications and marketing, particularly in the not-for-profit sector, charitable organizations, or in the retail/small business sector. This individual is an experienced spokesperson and has a strong track record of fundraising and developing sponsorship strategies to support community programs and initiatives. Desired attributes include an ability to attract media and analyze marketing data to identify new sales strategies and platforms for multi-stakeholder communications for citizens, community collaborators, and business partners. An experienced communications professional, this person can tap into Ottawa’s strong environmental network to advance EnviroCentre’s profile and programs.
