Role: Wild ARC Volunteer
Organization: BC SPCA Wild ARC / Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre
Location: Victoria BC
Ever wanted to work hands-on with wildlife and make a difference in the lives of individual animals? This is the opportunity you have been waiting for!
Wild ARC is one of the busiest rehabilitation centres in BC, and our volunteers play a vital role in helping us save the lives of many sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals. Over 150 volunteers help out each week to provide care for our wild patients, and we offer both classroom and hands-on training for those willing to commit to a 4-hour weekly shift for a minimum of six months.
Alternatively, you may know someone who loves wildlife (from a distance) and wants to volunteer helping to cook and clean for our animals without the need for hands-on experience – our Spit ‘n’ Polish and Wildlife Chef volunteers do just that. Or perhaps you thrive on building networks and sharing information – our Outreach, Humane Education, or Fundraising Committees would love to meet you! Maybe you don’t have a regular schedule, but would be willing to help transport contained wildlife to the centre for treatment – our Wildlife Transport Team could use the help (and the wheels!).
Interested in finding out more? Our Volunteer Orientation Session is a great way to learn more about Wild ARC volunteer opportunities without making a firm commitment. We’re happy to share with you the various roles available, and help you find one that fits your skills, interests, and available time.
