Position: Assistant Trip Leaders / Camp Attendants
Type: work-for-stay volunteer positions / accommodations, meals, travel
Organization: Great Canadian Wildlife Adventures
Location: Kuujjuaq, Nunavik, northern Quebec, Canada / return travel from Montreal (see below)
We are seeking volunteer workers to join us in Canada's Far North to work as trip leader assistants and camp attendants on our remote wildlife expeditions to the Ungava region of Nunavik, Canada, to help us set up and operate remote wildlife viewing camps. These camps are being operated for photographers to experience wild wolves during the den cycle, the great summer caribou migration, polar bears, musk-oxen herds, and northern lights.
We request your services in exchange for accommodations (tent camps), board, travel costs, and mostly for the privilege to participate in an incredible wildlife experience / wilderness adventure at one of the most remote areas in Canada. You can learn more about our wildlife photo programmes at http://www.thelon.com
Duties include general labour, helping load and unload small aircraft, assisting on some construction improvement projects, cleaning cabins, setting up and taking down tent camps, maintaining camp yard, assisting with meal preparation / kitchen cleanup, operating boats and outboard motors, and assisting trip leaders with delivering daily interpretive wildlife, natural history and archaeological programs on the field. Successful assistants will be considered for paid positions in future seasons.
Term is from July 1 to September 20, 2017. Travel paid from and return to Montreal (if full work term is completed); tent accommodations and meals while on the field.
A rare opportunity for an incredible wildlife and wilderness adventure for the right person!
