The Leslieville Farmers’ Market is looking for volunteers for our 2018 season.
Position: Market Volunteers
Organization: The Leslieville Farmers' Market
Location: Toronto, Ontario
If you’re interested in learning about local food systems, nutrition and health, community development and outreach or public space animation and planning, then the Leslieville Farmers’ Market could be the place for you. We’re looking for skilled students to join our team to help us develop our 2018 community programs, undertake special projects focusing on equity and inclusivity and assist our senior staff.
We always encourage our volunteers to engage a special project of their own that our market can support. Past projects include planning studies later presented at professional industry conferences, graphic design and photo projects and community equity programs.
Volunteers also find a variety of different roles with our market.
Market Ops: Market team assemble! Help us run this crazy crazy market.
Set up & Tear down: Looking for a workout? First in, last out soldier!
Off-site: Free time but not on a Sunday? Help out behind the scenes!
Special Projects: Have a great idea or special skill? Tell us. We’re probably down.
The Leslieville Farmers’ Market is one of Toronto’s busiest markets with over 50 vendors attracting hundreds of guests every Sunday between 9am - 2pm in Jonathan Ashbridges Park. Known for our events such as last years PolliNation, the Leslieville Night Market and the Leslieville Holiday Market, we also provide programming each and every market day.
With over $4 million in revenue generated for local farmers in our 7 years of operation, we believe that the path to real change lies in coming together around the fundamentals—food, community and celebration—and creating an alternative. If you would like to be a part of that, we’d love love to hear from you.
