Wanted: Summer Event Volunteers / Urban Outreach Team

Hi there! Our names are Sarah Hubbard and Izabella Balcerzak, and we are this year’s volunteer coordinators for the Parks Canada Urban Outreach team. We are looking for help at various Toronto events, the Toronto Zoo and Ripley’s Aquarium. It will be an exciting year because of Canada 150 — volunteer to be a part of it! If you are enthusiastic, adaptable and people-friendly, we would love to have you on our team. For more information, please see the poster and the list of events below. Feel free to email us with any questions! To register as a volunteer, contact us at mask* and provide your preferred dates/events.

  • June 10th-11th: MEC Paddlefest

  • June 16th-18th: International Dragon Boat Festival

  • June 20th-22nd: National Aboriginal Day

  • June 23rd-25th: Toronto Pride and the Franco-Fête at Harbourfront

  • July 1st: Toronto Zoo and Ripley’s Aquarium

  • July 7th-9th: Mariposa Folk Festival

  • July 15th-16th: South Asian Festival and Kite Fest in Markham

  • July 19th-29th: Kids CBC Day

  • July 23rd: Youth Day at Yonge and Dundas

  • August 4th-7th: Kempenfest

  • August 5th-7th: Ripley’s Aquarium

  • August 18th-September 4th: Canadian National Exhibition

Parks Canada is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with activity support at various events throughout Toronto.

How can you help?

  • Provide support with the green screen photobooth
  • provide support to the airbrush tattoo station
  • greet and direct visitors to the parks canada kiosk
  • interact with the public as parka, parks canada’s mascot
  • provide overall event support

What will you gain?

  • Accumulation of volunteer hours
  • Opportunity to attend major Toronto events
  • Meet and work alongside Parks Canada staff
  • Learn about the agency and gain valuable work experience
