Rouge National Urban Park is looking for new Guided Walk Leader volunteers who wish to connect the visitors to the Rouge’s amazing natural, cultural and agricultural heritage!
As a volunteer walk leader, you would be helping people in your community to get active and healthy and showing people that active living really can make a big difference in their lives. Volunteers accepted into the program will receive a range of training related to Parks Canada, Rouge National Urban Park, wildlife, hiking and group management, storytelling and interpretive techniques, first aid, and much more. Prospective volunteers must attend all training workshops in February and March and commit to the program for one year.
Guided Walk Leaders, are often be the first point of contact for new visitors and must provide them a safe and enjoyable walking experience. There is a diversity of trails and people who use these trails. As such, volunteer GWLs should be open and willing to engage with people of different walks of life, abilities, and ages.

Training for new leaders is mandatory and will start early February and will occur on weeknights and require some weekends.
