I need a Volunteer Coordinator!

Would you like to play a role in building a better Toronto? I am officially joining the mayoral race as a candidate on May 1, and need help managing a rapidly growing team of volunteers. I am looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage ongoing communication with an expanding team of volunteers.

Whether you have recently graduated from high school, or you are retired, or somewhere in between, you should be high energy, highly organized and have experience working with, managing or recruiting volunteers. You must also have excellent communication skills via email and over the phone.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for 2 months, which may be extended to longer (up until October 22, 2018), and an excellent opportunity to build your network and experience. Hours are negotiable, and will start out at 5 hours per week and grow depending on your availability. You can work from home, with regular meetings at varying locations with myself and your team of volunteers.

Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team of volunteers on a regular basis
  • Create and manage a spreadsheet or database of volunteers
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive atmosphere by recognizing volunteer efforts and helping volunteers succeed
  • Regularly communicate with volunteers via email and phone
  • Scheduling
  • Recruiting
  • Coaching
  • Other administration as required
  • Must be a Toronto resident
