Apply your market research savvy to help Evergreen better understand the market in the field of outdoor play and learning. The project will focus on an in-depth analysis of the competition to inform a five-year scaling strategy for Evergreen’s Learning Grounds/Urban Design for Children program. The Market Researcher will provide micro-level research and analysis. Flourishing cities depend on flourishing children who connect to nature at every opportunity. We are specifically examining the connection (or impact?) made through curriculum applications and on-site landscape design at schools from early primary grades through high school. Flourishing cities depend on flourishing children who connect to nature at every opportunity. The Market Researcher will be helping more Canadian children grow and thrive.
What you bring: You have a strong background in business with analyst experience, and proven research experience. You’re self-motivated and committed to see a project through, with solid written English abilities. An interest in unstructured play and inquiry play-based learning in nature is a definite asset. Access to a computer is also preferred.
When & where: The project is expected to take a total of 60 - 80 hours, depending on your pace and can be done from home (internet) on a flexible schedule with scheduled check-ins to report on progress. If you are in Toronto, you may be able to work from our office at 550 Bayview Ave. The ideal end date for the project is mid December, but up for discussion, 2018.
How we’ll support you: You will receive an orientation to Evergreen, our work in the area of children’s outdoor play and learning and this specific project. You will receive ongoing support and resources from the project lead throughout and will work with the project lead on a full project milestones and objectives plan. There will be regular meetings to align work with project goals and provide feedback.
Perks: You will gain valuable market research experience (great for a business student project) and get to work directly with the Program Manager for the Learning Grounds program. You’ll get our ongoing appreciation and the coffee/tea is always on at our office if you are onsite. You will receive a volunteer T-shirt and references on request. We may engage a small team to work together on this project.
