VOLUNTEER POSITION

Position: Garden Greeter at Special Event
Organization: Toronto Botanical Garden
Location: Toronto, Ontario

THROUGH THE GARDEN GATE: NORTH ROSEDALE AND MOORE PARK

WHEN: Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, 2017 | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. morning and/or afternoon shifts available.

THE EVENT: Toronto Botanical Garden’s 30th annual Through the Garden Gate is one of Canada’s largest private garden tours. This year 31 residential gardens in North Rosedale and Moore Park will open their gates to happy garden-lovers in one of Toronto’s most affluent neighbourhoods.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: GARDEN GREETER

Stationed at the entrance to one of the gardens on the route, greeting visitors, ensuring they have appropriate wristband for entry to garden, answering any general questions they may have, keeping an eye on bicycles for visiting cyclists if needed. This is an outdoors relatively active role, on your feet when greeting visitors but chairs are available to sit down during quieter periods. It involves a high degree of interaction with members of the public and would suit an outgoing person with good communication skills, someone who is able to be assertive with tact! (able to refer non-ticket holders to headquarters).

You can volunteer together with a friend if you would like and volunteer for both morning and afternoon shifts if you want to get maximum hours credit!
