VOLUNTEER POSITION

Position: Volunteer Graphic Designer at socially responsible travel agency
Organization: Professionals doing good
Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia, Southeast Asia

Professionals doing good is a volunteer recruitment agency that places volunteers at other NGOs in Siem Reap, Cambodia

Key Requirements

Minimum 3 -6 month commitment.

Seniority : two - five year experience in the position

Start Dates: November 2017

Reporting to : Director and Founder

Purpose of the project

The project aims to contribute in the creation of an on-line platform serving primarily as a travel guide, leveraging both local and international travel experience.

The goal is to promote tourism in rural areas with high potential to create needed income, particularly in places that are not on the tourist map yet to generate income in rural areas through tourism. If we are able to bring only an average of one tourist a day to one of the areas, it will be successful as it will create a spin-off effect for the community as a whole. The project also aims to promote tourists to areas which also see a fair amount of tourism.

Responsibilities

  • Working with a wide range of media and using graphic design software
  • Thinking creatively and developing new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Creating banners for internet presence
  • Creating and edit short movies for branding (e.g. YouTube, websites)
  • Transferring Knowledge– ensuring all work carried out is transferable to staff and can be accessed / use continued
  • Creating templates for ongoing branding campaign (e.g. Facebook, google+, etc)

Requirements

  • Proven graphic designing experience
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc)
  • Highly proficient in all design aspects
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines

Nice to have : knowledge of video editing and product branding
