Food for Thought - Hope for the Nations is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us with our Fruit Preservation Project! The goal of the Fruit Preservation Project is to make preserves using fruits donated by the Okanagan Fruit Tree Project. The type of fruit will be seasonal and the method of preservation will vary. (ie. jams, freezing and drying) We will be working in a certified kitchen in the New Life Centre in Kelowna. The preserves will then be used in the Food for Thought breakfast program in the following school year. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. We will be meeting every Thursday and Friday and the schedule is as follows:
Thursday: 11 am - 4 pm
Friday: 9 am -2 pm
Please bring water and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. (bring an apron if you’d like)
