Transition Guelph is a group of citizens coming together as volunteers to promote processes and projects for strengthening community resilience and economic vitality. We’re currently looking for a volunteer fundraiser to support us in developing our 2018 Resilience Festival.
Duties and Responsibilities
The volunteer fundraiser will assist with our crowdfunding campaign:
Assist in developing a crowdfunding strategy; setting fundraising goals, creating a pitch, deciding on the best platform, launching the campaign
Liaise with current and potential supporters over social media; answer questions, keep supporters informed, encourage supporters to share and thank donors
Assist with donor stewardship and recognition activities
Knowledge of environmental issues, community resilience a bonus
Position requires a commitment of 8-10 hours per week in the weeks leading up to the Festival.
This position provides hands-on experience for individuals interested in fundraising and event planning, particularly in the non-profit, environmental or community development sectors. The position would especially suit someone with a passion for environmental issues, sustainability, community and resilience. Volunteers have the opportunity to connect with others who care about sustainability while helping Transition Guelph reach its goal of promoting a healthier, more resilient community.
