VOLUNTEER POSITION

Position: Environmental Education in Brazil
Organization: Instituto do Meio Ambiente / Institute of the Environment
Type: unpaid / volunteer
Location: Macei├│, Brazil, South/Latin America

Environmental Institute promotes research, conservation and protection of the fauna and flora of the state Alagoas (north-east of Brazil) through various projects.

Volunteers are needed especially for the Environmental Education departments to assist by one of the projects:

  • School on the boat - during the small boat trip through the lagoon, the childred get ot know about the local nature and its conservation
  • Environmental games at with school children
  • "Our beach" project - talks and discussion with the workers on the beach as well as beach public
  • other on-going projects

Profile:

  • Good knowledge of Portuguese (or language course on site)
  • Study focus: Biology, Geography, Ecology, and Geology
  • Committed, reliable, positive attitude
