Position: Lovin’ The Earth Climate Action Fair Volunteer
Organization: Society Promoting Environmental Conservation
Location: Vancouver, BC
About the Event
SPEC is one of Canada’s oldest urban environmental non-profits. Since 1969 its volunteer-driven advocacy initiatives, educational programs and events have inspired countless residents of Greater Vancouver to take a stronger stand for the environment.
In celebration of our 50th birthday, SPEC is presenting a climate action fair on Saturday August 31, from 10am to 3pm at Riley Park (50 E 30th Ave, Vancouver, BC) in Vancouver. Lovin’ the Earth Climate Action Fair will encourage and inspire people of all ages and cultures to reconnect with nature by learning, experiencing and engaging with meaningful action to fight climate change.
There will be stroll-through exhibits with engaging activities, mainstage speakers, and scheduled workshops throughout the day, all focused on answering the question; "What is one thing we can start doing today to help stop the climate crisis?" This one-of-a-kind, family friendly event will cover sustainability topics in areas of food, waste, energy, transportation, and resilience.
Thank you to our sponsors and partners: Aviva Community Fund, Vancity, CBC Vancouver, Little Mountain Neighbourhood House, and Riley Park Community Garden.
