Position: Learn to Ride Assistant

Teach young Torontonians to cycle with safety and confidence in the Don Valley and beyond! Share your passion of cycling and coaching in this active volunteer role.

If you enjoy cycling and teaching others bike skills, we have just the role for you! Join our dedicated team of volunteers to help coach Learn to Ride classes for children ages 6-13. Getting more Torontonians out on bikes is good for the environment, health, and fun!

Commitment: At least 2-3 shifts each month on Sunday afternoons from 4 PM - 6 PM, and occasional shifts on weekday events with community groups.

What you bring:

  • The ability to ride a bike
  • Experience working or volunteering with children
  • An interest in cycling, community engagement and healthy living
  • The spirit of team work
  • First Aid training considered an asset
  • Must have a Valid Police Record Check*
  • Must be 15 years old or older

*NOTE: Police Checks will be initiated and paid for by Evergreen, as part of the screening process.

When & Where: Sunday afternoons (4 PM - 6 PM) from May 13, 2018 to September 30, 2018 and occasional weekday evenings at Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview Ave.).

How we’ll support you: Attend our mandatory training session on Sunday, April 29, 2018from 4 PM – 6 PM. We will provide you with the support you need to feel confident teaching new cyclists how to ride.


  • Share joyful moments with participants who are learning to ride for the first time
  • Join the dynamic team at Evergreen Brick Works
  • Access to our bike shop and a discount when purchasing bike parts

Good to Know: Evergreen runs a free shuttle bus from Broadview subway station, and the 28A Davisville bus regularly stops at EBW on weekends. The Beltline trail, Milkman’s lane, and the new Bayview bike lane make the site accessible by bike. How to get here.
